ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering (BS ME) is an honors program of the John Gokongwei School of Management that combines Ateneo de Manila's traditional strength in the liberal arts with a rigorous foundation in business management, decision science, and business analytics. Designed for students who thrive on both people and numbers, the program prepares graduates to lead modern, information- and technology-intensive organizations.

BS ME pursues a twofold formation. First, students receive a well-rounded, humanities-grounded education—drawing on literature, philosophy, history, and the social sciences—that builds a deep understanding of human culture, ethics, and societal context. Second, the curriculum equips students with the quantitative and analytical skills to collect, process, analyze, and interpret data, enabling them to make evidence-based decisions in a business or organizational setting. Through coursework in operations research, statistical modelling, data engineering, artificial intelligence for business, and integrated case studies, students learn to apply a systems-thinking approach to real business problems and to design data-driven solutions using information technology.

A four-year, full-time program recognized by CHED as a Center of Excellence and assessed under the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework, BS ME is highly selective, admitting only top-performing incoming students. Graduates are known for their strong business "savviness" paired with technical depth, making them highly sought after for careers in management consulting, business development, supply chain, corporate finance, and brand management, as well as roles in human resources, operations, and information technology. In keeping with Ateneo's Jesuit tradition, the program forms not just skilled analysts but principled, well-rounded leaders equipped to make impactful, data-informed decisions for the good of the organizations and communities they serve.

Admission Requirements

  1. ACET Exam: Applicants must be in the top 15 percentile of those taking the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET).

  2. High School Performance: They should have good to excellent grades in high school, specially in Mathematics

  3. Senior High School Track: It is highly recommended that they come from the STEAM Track because of the level of mathematics they will encounter. Students from other SHS tracks will also be considered if they meet the ACET Entrance requirement.
